Title: just bought a gt tdi 170 but wont rev with clutch in over 3000rpm

wrong forum but as its a mk5 i know there are some tdi owners here. so it it normal for it to rev ok when parked but when clutch is depressed it only goes to 3000rpm. sounds like a limiter
yup i miss my gti already.

thanks andy. seems to be talked about on the seat tdi's too so guess its ok.

switch off traction control will allow the car to rev out....

never ever tried that..i treat my baby with cotton gloves...  :sad1: or  :innocent:
every 100 miles I floor it in 3rd & hold on regulator to clear some crap out tho  :drinking:
