Guys I have a late 08 gti and was wondering what version DV would be fitted, Is it possible to see the number on it without to much trouble... or should i just fit a new one anyway. cheers.

You'll have to jack up the car to check in view of its position.

Fit a new one anyway mate just for piece of mind, revision G is the latest one around £34 from VW might be slightly cheaper from TPS

I am thinking of getting it mapped stage 1 so probably be best to fit a new one anyway... do you know the part number as we have a TPS round here i could get one from there :happy2:

06F 145 710 G :happy2:

Thank you bud  Update £34 +vat from TPS. Ordered.

Seems the G is two revisions old. New DV is 06H 145 710 C

Unless i'm very much mistaken?

The letter at the end (C/D/G) is the REVISION. Generally they start at A.
G is the later revision, C is an older one.
G is the best one to go for, this has been well documented.

Seems G is the later revision for the diaphragm type DV. They then changed to another new part number which was the piston type, so D was released in piston form and the latest is now c.

It goes in order
06F 145 710 A > B > C > G
Then VAG released the piston type (note the new part number)
06H 145 710 D.
The latest version is part no. 06H 145 710 C which is different to the D in that the outer cone is removed. This is what is fitted to TSi engines.

Confusing!

G ftw :happy2:
