Title: Another happy r tech customer
Post by: tomanni on August 01, 2013, 06:04:53 pm
Just got back from r tech after having a stage one map on my edition 30. To say I'm happy with the service would be an understatement - 315bhp and 318ft/lb from 245bhp and 244ft/lb  :happy2:
The car had pre cat delete, evoms intake and rev g diverter before the map so pre cat and evoms technically have 15bhp over standard for reference.
I'd thoroughly recommend their service and really know what's what with regard to these cars :)

Great to hear that. :happy2: Spent a lot of time with Nicki and learned a lot from my trip up there.

Good comparisons to show stock v Stage 1 TIV mapping.

Best value for money remap on the market, and it totally transforms the Ed30.

Let the haters go on and hate  :indifferent:

Some impressive figures there.  I'm currently looking to get my gti mapped but don't want to rush out and go to any one.
Where are r tech based?
Are r tech maps as aggressive as revo???

They are in Hinckley and and iirc they will map the car to how you want it

I must have been straight in after tomanni, he had a massive smile after the test drive.

Nick sorted out my wrecked DV and got a lad from 2 doors down to replace my cam follower first, we then hit a snag with my low pressure fuel flow. Then we found out mine was already mapped.

Nick has recommended Alex at AKS to check my fuel sensor and fuel pump, then to pop back. So far the health check has rectified two problems that I hadn't rectified and identified a 3rd. Now have a car that actually works as it should do.

I can't wait to get back.

As aggressive as you want,or as progressive as you want..

The Latter is the better one, Aggressive power is absolutely pointless in a FWD car.

My TIV setup up remap done by Nicki is much faster than my old wheel hopping Old Superchips remap  :happy2:

My main concern with it being a manual was the hit of torque from an aggressive map killing the clutch, but I agree with the progressive map being the superior one. Far more drive able and coupled with the linear throttle map and how smooth it is with the tiv I'm very impressed.

Good to hear you got some issues sorted on yours Mev, my drive home provided far more smiles than that quick blast

Agreed  :happy2:

Do later adjustments or updates cost much (or anything) ?

Mine was £290 for a custom map with a rolling road before and after. I think they may also take it out to tweak on the road, but don't quote me on that as me and the mrs went for some lunch  :ashamed:

Life time of customer service

He does TIV updates for free, probably the same for small tweaks but going from K03-4 will probably be a cost . Best speaking to Niki though

They are great.I got 362bhp On stage2+ and the transformation is incredible. Pretty sure updates are free and an upgrade in mapping to the next stage costs the price difference between current stage map price and new stage price

Yep if going from stage one to stage two, you just pay for the dyno hours :)
