Hi all,
I've bought a Mk5 GTI which I notice has an Apple type connector in the arm rest. I have googled this and wasn't really sure how it works.
I see people say that it fools the head unit into thinking it has a CD changer.
In my current car I have a bluetooth headunit which I stream my music through spotify on.
Will I be able to plug in my iPhone (4s) and play music through Spotify? And if not, is there a decent kit that can give you iphone connectivity?
Sorry if there's already a thread like this - I haven't found one yet
I should point out that I haven't actually got the car yet :happy2:
Thanks :)

I now have the car - the iPhone works with it. It plays music through spotify just as I wanted. However it does not charge the phone.

There's an adaptor you can buy to remedy that mate, I've not tried it yet:

Thank you! I went to Maplin, Currys and Carphone Warehouse to look for one and they all just looked at me a bit 'gone-out' :P

Online purchase I'm afraid.
Yes it does work. Although you might need to find a way to secure it as it's a bit loose.
Charged my iphone4 and now iphone 5.

There's also an eBay copy you can get for about £7 delivered.
