Title: New User, Hello !!
Post by: 182tev on August 07, 2013, 11:35:04 am
Hi there,

Im new to the forum and have been lurking around for a while now.

I currently have a clio 182 - (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fag93%2F182tev%2F320825_10151579539056919_986202763_n_zpsb14164bd.jpg&hash=ad46ae972f87c8775b291aa5122644e1475cc3f6)

Ive had enough of the 182 and its time to move back to german !

I previously had a Fabia vRS which was nothing but trouble. Before that, a mk4golf.

What I want to know is, which year to buy.....?

Im looking to spend about 8k .

what are everyone's thoughts between years 2005-2007 ?

Please share your opinions .

Thanks.

before late 2006 the GTI's had nicer standard features (blue tints, 10 speakers) but other than that....all years are pretty reliable and unreliable in the same aspects.

Thanks for the reply.

So generally 2005 and 2006 have the same good and bad points.

What about mechanically ?

Afaik they didn't change anything major. DSG was more reliable 2006 +

You may get an Edition 30 for £8.5k, has a bigger turbo and other goodies; good for around 300bhp stage 1. :happy2:

Well TBH any DSG car thats done over 40k will already be showing any issues if its got any.

so when you drive it, any dsg that jerky walk away. Get yourself on a hill facing down, stick dsg in reverse and it should take the weight of the car and creep backwards, if it jerks its going to be expensive.

make sure its been services every 4years or 40k.

Someone should buy that^^ lol, before I consider raiding the savings for it, looks a great unmolested example.
