Now generally most people on here would agree more boost = more power = awesomeness! However, since I fitted my new G DV, my mapped GTi has decided on the motorway to go into limp mode. VCDS is throwing a 16618/P0234/000564 - Boost Pressure Regulation: Limit Exceeded (Overboost Condition) error.
I don't get any lights on the dash and a simple restart gives me my turbo back! Clearly as its a brand new DV I know its not that. The question is what else could be causing it? Reading around there seems to be no general consensus:
- PCV - never changed in the 104k miles (8 yrs of ownership) - should I change this? Can it cause over-boost?
- Coil packs - changed under warranty about 2 yrs ago.
- spark plugs - changed at 80k miles so due to be changed at 120k
Any ideas what I can log in VCDS to get a better picture of what is going on? Is it worth changing any of the above to cure this condition which is very irritating because when it is not in limp mode it pulls like a train and feels awesome!

Ah sorry I missed the bit in the original post where you explained that you already followed the troubleshooting available to you from the Ross tech site. All I saw was a copy paste off the error code.
Lets hope no one else gives you some info you already know but haven't told us.
I had this issue and it was my n75 valve by the way. Stuck open, if you would like a part number let me know.

This also happened to me after my remap. I did nothing about it and it has gone away. Sometimes the 'do nothing' option is best...have a smoke and relax.

Thanks, unfortunately I have cleared the fault with VCDS more than one time and it does seem to come back, although on the 75 mile drive today it didn't, so it might be settling down.
Fab5Freddy & Saintsteve - thanks for the advice, I will know who to ignore when you post - trolls. All I said in my earlier post was that he had cut and paste the ross-tech wiki which is a fact. He could have said try this and then stated that he had the problem before and changed his N75 - if he had said that I would not have reacted the way I did. For the record I have over 150 posts (which you can search through and most if not all actually at least attempt to help/answer a question). No surprise you guys have over 1000 posts when you post complete nonsense like in this thread. :happy2:

Type r- neither of these guys are trolls and have helped many people on this forum. It's a community and for the most part everyone gets along and learns from each other. Hopefully you can find a solution to your problem but I would advise not to get personal with members of the forum.
