Title: Passat b6 rcd 300 to rcd 310

Hi

I have a friend looking to upgrade there rcd 300 to a 310
The last letter of the part number for the gateway is c , does this need a gateway upgrade? Or will it not suffer with battery drain?
As this is the 3rd gen of the units im now thinking it will need the upgrade?
Would a 500 be okay without a new gateway?

he will require a passat gateway 3c0 907 530Q

if upgrading to a 3rd gen radio

Hi eddie thanks for the reply i guess there is no way around the issue without a gateway upgrade?
Do you know how much this gateway is? Ebay doesnt come up with anything if i search the P/N.
I guess a golf gateway wont be compatible?
