Title: HELP - Removing Inside Condensation From Your Headlamps??

I cant believe it,

I changed my bulbs last week with some from Regal Bulbs (we get the 10% discount here) with the slightly brighter bulbs... and a touch of blue tint to them.

Yesterday, is the pouring rain, i get back to find BOTH my headlamps have condensation in... the right headlamp worser than the other.

I will post pictures tonight as im at work now.

Please please please how do you get rid of it ? :scared: :scared: :scared:

Try removing the rubber covers on the back, then running the headlamps on dipped beam
you might need to repeat the several time to dry out the healights units - once condensation free - replace rubber cover on the rear

If it happened after you have changed the bulbs, then im guessing you havnt put the rubber bungs back in it propably.  :smiley:

Should i do this when the engine is cold and turned off ?


To Joe - will check the bungs now... but i really wanted to avoid this hence im sure i made sure i put them back on properly

The more heat the better - dry's them out faster

just dry them out and make sure the bungs are on ok.

once they've dried they shouldnt do it again

Take off the rubber covers off and use a hair dryer on the front of the head light to evaporate the condensation.

have you got any silca gel packets lying around? the sort you get in with shoes etc?

one method i guess  :grin:

no you put the silica beads into a section of a pair of ladies lights and put them into the headlight, you then heat the front causing the water to vaporize and be collected in the beads. then pull the tights out and your done. before silica it was common to use salt, is an age old trick for removing water from the inside of door skins, but the salt is messy

Ok, ill give all these methods a shot... but ill leave the silca thing till last :grin:
