Title: Somerset New Boy (Now With A Couple Of Pictures)
Post by: Jacker on August 14, 2013, 09:47:26 pm
Hi all!

New guy here from Sunny Somerset!

Hope to make a few new friends and hopefully put names to faces at some point.

I've recently purchased a Golf GTI in Tornado Red and i love it. It's an awesome upgrade from a 306.

Will get a few pictures up tomorrow in the better light.

Thanks, Jack

Welcome and you picked a good colour .

Someone told me red cars are hard to sell in general. I think the gti is an exception. Ferrari too

My sister told me by statistics red cars are the most crashed colour in the UK.

I didn't listen, I chose the colour because I like it.

I just have to trawl through the forum to sort out a few problems with the car. Bloody electrics, Lol.

Lol you need educating. Biggest Vw show in country. Google it or join the forum but be warned there are some complete arse holes on there. Is good forum but last few years just seemed to have gone down hill

I really do need educating! Lol. I'm used to the french car scene.. but with all the Spaxo's and 106's running around now, it was just getting worse and worse which is why in the end I wanted to change car and car scenes.

If i'm travelling far, i better get my arse in gear and sort out all the stupid faults on this car!

Also, could you guys help me out with what make of alloy this is?

I'm personally not too keen on them, they may look different with a change of colour.

I like the look of the BBS Pescara's but might refurb the split-rim's and see what I think. I might create a thread with colour suggestions and see what's suggested.

You should get some nice rims for that go on edition 38 forum and look at classified section. Do your research and look hard and you will find lovely set. Don't need to buy brand new

So many to choose from have look on there you will have to make a couple posts before you can view the classifieds but that will take you five minutes ;-) 5 post I think. What about audi speedlines, what size do you want ??
Title: Re: Somerset New Boy (Now With A Couple Of Pictures)
Post by: Jacker on September 04, 2013, 12:54:30 am
I think i need 18/19's to be able to get them to fit over my 911 calipers. I'd prefer an OEM look, but do like the look of T.D 1.2's
Title: Re: Somerset New Boy (Now With A Couple Of Pictures)
Post by: Bow on September 04, 2013, 12:19:00 pm
Ohhhh maybe 19's :-) what about se
Bentley rims??. Audi speedline are lovely oem wheels

Post by: Jacker on September 04, 2013, 01:16:36 pm
I live out in the stick and want to raise the car up a couple of mm. Bentley rims would get ruined IMO.

The more OEM the better.

I'd buy a set of satin black Pescara's tomorrow if I knew they'd fitted over my brakes..

Are there alot a 'replica' Pescara's on eBay? As they seem to vary in price alot!

Pescara's won't fit over a BBK without spacers. If you get them, you'll need to gain at least 5mm so go with 8mm and get some Hubcentric ones and longer bolts, should be ok then.

Or get some BBS VZ's. Look like Pescara's but with a wider rim and better offset, 18x8" ET44. I have these on my Eddy and have loads of room, 13mm to be precise (without spacers) for my Porsche Brembo Calipers.

I still have at least 7-9mm clearance.....

^^^ You can get the VZ's from Graeme at GJN_Motorsport on here, if he is still doing his deal. Cheaper than anywhere else when I bought mine....
