Hi there guys, I'm getting an eddy soon and the mods il be doing first will be an induction kit/intake, then milltek cat back and revo stage 1 remap.
What is the best induction kit/intake kit?
I've looked at the ITG Maxogen, Evoms and Forge Twintake.
I love the look of the Twintake, i just want whichever one is best for bhp and torque gains, the noise doesn't bother me wether is be a louder intake or quieter, i just don't want it quieter than standard i want some noise  and cost shouldn't be an issue!
Please help me as it is driving me mad haha!
Thanks,
Jay :drinking:

Alright mate. I have itg on mine and it makes a lot of noise, I like that tho. Iv been told its the best performer. Twintakes good too, plus you can keep the engine cover on with that one. Tbh I don't think they'll be much (if anything) difference in all 3 youv listed.
-
Ive had both Twintake and Evoms, the latter being much better for both power and delivery!
Note that for both these kits, the standard engine cover will NOT fit after being fitted!

My bad, I thought you could keep cover on. Thanks for correcting

Revo kit shows the best gains over the lot. Closely followed by the itg. Twintake is one of the worst performers out there. I've switched customers from the twintake to the revo with massive gains and results.
-
From experience, I wouldn't recommend the Twintake on a KO4, great on a KO3 though. I found the Evoms gave good gains, I'm sure the ITG etc will too.
-
Okay that's brilliant thank you, will the itg or Evoms provide best performance gains as well as some nice noise, chatter etc?
Thanks guys for you options and opinions!

Revo over the 2 you mention as Alex says, but if the choice is between the itg and evoms buy the ceramic coated one alex has for sale, as it's unique :

My Enclosed VWRacing intake gave better gains than my open ITG Intake on Edition 30.

There's so many different opinions I'm so confused, I can't afford to try all haha!

What results? Just curious as thinking of selling the twintake for an ITG or evoms.

I've heard that the Evoms one can be annoying when travelling at lower speeds and only sounds nice when you give it some!? How true is this, it's got to be an itg or Evoms for me I think! :D
-
Wish I saw this earlier, ordered my Twintake for my eddy the other day :ashamed: I'm thinking about talking to awesome gti and swapping to the ITG as the Twintake is on back order from forge for two weeks??
-
Hi guys any more thoughts on which one of these kits I should
Buy as its payday tomorrow wheeey! Haha
Any more opinions etc would be great!
Thanks
Jay

What about the big revo one it looks pretty cool, LVS showed me one on there audi A3 at edition 38 show. The chatter was amazing price wise was £385+

Think I might keep the oem look with a carbonio or go all out for an Evoms or itg maxogen, how well does the Evoms fit? Is it as good as the itg? Which has better power gains/noise etc? I would like the Evoms as it is cheaper even with the heat shield! But I would go either way :)
Thanks Jay

Hi guys anyone know anything about the revo kits? Just been looking at them and they look really good! I think they look better than the itg due to it being covered properly and not by foam like the itg!? What are your opinions?
Thanks Jay

I've got ITG maxogen on my Edition and can't fault it in anyway. Sounds the buisness and looks quality not forgetting the power gains. :happy2:
-
I'm stuck between itg and revo, has anyone had both? Anyone recommend one more than another?
Cheers again guys!
JAY

Easy decision... ITG maxogen :jumpmove:

Evoms, ITG and Revo all give similar gains within a few bhp.
All give good sound. Personally I have the Evoms intake and it sounds great, but then so do both the others.
The ITG looks like a home made intake and I don't like oiled filters, so the dry filter on the Evoms won out for me.

I've decided to go for an Evoms woo! With the heat shield of course! best place to buy from? And how hard is it to chop up your engine cover as this is what I'm worried about and does the evoms fit the MAF okay?
Thanks Hurdy!

Id stick with the oe intake as you will lose low end torque and power. I fitted one at stage 2+ and then removed it. I found my engine responded better with the oe intake and was a better fast road car. Plus I couldnt really feel the difference when going for it. The difference is so small you are maybe talking barely a fraction of a second in acceleration times. If you are doing track days then an intake is good as you will be using the high revs where the power is with the intakes. Lots of people have made the switch back to oe and found what I did.
-
Hmm dunno what to do to be fair! Either a carbonio or Evoms, I do want to buy an intake of some sort so I'm not sure wether to go all out for an Evoms and buy a new engine cover off eBay or get a carbonio from awesomegti to keep the car looking OEM?
Other mods I want to do are a milltek catback and maybe a stage 1 revo remap!
Hate having a choice haha
-
Evoms and Revos look seriously good, I've heard many times the OEM one is more than capable of giving good intake so the improvements may be less noticeable compared to over cars.
I've got a twintake on mine but only being a k03 I've head it wont restrict it at all and it looks the nads!
Couple any of these with a TTS engine cover and it'll look the business
-
I've got a Neuspeed P-Flo which makes a good stutter when you come off the throttle which I love ! :happy2:
-
If you are just doing stage 1 then an intake is not needed. I wouldn't bother with a Carbonio as they don't add power from what others have reported and dynoed on here. Id use your money into doing other mods like better brakes and suspension. I've spent lots on modifications, fitting catch cans etc and always found the engine ran better with the OE parts fitted.
