I personally like 3M blue and yellow and Chemical Guys yellow Hexlogic.

Technology moves on though so there's bound to be something better.

according to Internet green is for cutting as well rather than finishing is this correct as I thought 205 is finishing compound rather than cutting

Don't lock yourself into the mentality of "must only use cutting pad with cutting polish" or similar. Look at this guide: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=63859

Use the appropriate pad for the job - may require trial and error. I like sonus pads. I found the hex logic ones to disintegrate.

Use a finishing pad for waxes but best use for liquid waxes.
