Might be worth checking if your engine cover is firmly fixed. Mine was rattling around, which caused the oil cap handle section to break off...which then broke my radiator fan and put a hole in the radiator

Happened to me this too  luckily fell out the bottom of the car onto the road without breaking the fan/radiator.

Can get them on eBay for a few quid, or treat yourself to an R8 one.

eBay it is. Not interested in the R8 one rather spend money on something else ie save towards performance mods :-)

Worth sorting out the reason why it happened too mate, I had two disappear before replacing the missing peg that was causing the engine cover to pop the top off.

Take the cover off and inspect all the pegs are screwed in properly and you have all the bungs in place and refit.  If its not that it could be a loose fire carpet shield thing that's hooked underneath the bonnet, make sure its clipped in properly. :happy2:

Sorry late reply not been able to log on had it replaced now. The cover is lose so will need to sort that out. Not driving it much at minute and hopefully have induction kit so won't need the cover :-)
