Am looking for a subtle change to my fog lights, either looking at the Nokya ultra yellow bulbs, or standard bulbs with a light smoke lamin x film over the top.
What do you think would look better on a standard silver Edition 30?
Will just the Nokya bulbs make the foglights look yellow?
I don't want either to really stand out, and can't decide which would look better on a silver car...any opinions/pictures appreciated :happy2:

I have Nokya Hyper Yellows fitted for full beam and fogs. I have also yellow Lamin-X'd the fogs too. Just fitting the bulbs didn't make them look yellow. Mine is Shadow Blue and think they look allrite. If you have a front end photo of yours I can shop them yellow to see what they will look like.

On a silver car I don't think it will look good, I think it should be contrasting otherwise I will get lost. Yellow on black, blue or red would be ok but not silver. But that's just my opinion, at the end of the day it's your car.
You could always try the Laminex and if it looks sh*te then rip it off. Nothing to Los dude

Yellow fogs/lights is a bit jap IMO

Don't see the attraction at all.

Matto, are the fogs done with a yellow film or does the lense come tinted? Can you send a link over for your finished product? I like the look!
-
Gobytibbs, my fogs were done with Lamin-X film. Just came as a precut sheet. I think the website I had it from are no longer trading though so you'll have to see if there is somewhere that can supply it elsewhere in the UK :happy2:

Thanks for the heads up!

Matto do you have better visibility with the yellow fogs/high beams? I know yellow are meant to be better in the fog but what are they like in general?
-
are yellow high beams legal? read too many yes no's
-
They are legal for high beam and fogs. Years ago (probably before my time) a lot European cars and trucks used to run them in high beam and fogs. As the light is yellow it's meant to cut through fog better than a whiter light
-
thanks mate, do they give out a better output of light

I would say the light output is reasonably good yeah. Most of my commute to work is unlit A roads so one of the reasons why I decided to try them. The light output isn't 'better' then other bulbs, its to do with the colour temperature. These I have are 2500K meaning it is supposed to cut through fog better and not reflecting back as much.
I can use full beams in thicker fog than with a bulb producing a whiter light but if the fog is very thick you can still only use dipped.

Works out at about £15 with the international postage. Now to wait 5 weeks

I also have Nokya full beam bulbs and lamin x fogs , the full beam bulbs look great when light catches them right apart from that i thought they would be more yellow also. :sad1:
