Once you've downloaded that, simple download any photos from your ipad to it and then click the link sign which opens up a drop down menu and click the IMG Code link and then paste that into your post. Simples.

I thought the Rev G was cheaper than that... you can get it online (http://www.germanautopartsdirect.co.uk/AUDI-A3/S3-2003-on-ENGINE-&-CLUTCH/c1_22_355/p3756/DUMP-VALVE-PETROL-ENGINES-2005-TO-2012-06F145710G/product_info.html) for less - seems odd. Perhaps VW have realised that it's an ongoing problem and hiked the prices. :fighting:
-
I seen people were paying around the £32-36 mark, with TPS being a stones throw from work I just phoned and collected it on the way home. I'll get it fitted tomorrow before it gets dark :happy2:
-
Despite the crap whether today I Got on with it and installed my new revision G DV.
Took the car for a test drive after and what a difference! I noticed straight away she just kept on pulling

Is this a deffo job to do ?
Does our car need to be mapped to take advantage of this ?
-
I would say so mate, I spent hours reading threads on here and a lot of people say the rev G is on par or even better than aftermarket types like forge.
I spoke to a guy I here about maintenance/tuning and he said this is best, and on the plus the Car doesn't need to be mapped to install it.
I've got a home built intake to go on so I'll be mapping before Xmas hopefully :happy2:
Recon you'll change your DV? My next thing is replace the PCV amd cam follower to the newest revisions to be on top of maintenance before issues occur

Whats the part number from TPS ?
How much faster is your car ?
-
TPS 06F 145 710 G £37.08
Turbo kicks in @ around 3K and it feels like it pulls a lot harder
I notice it more mainly because my old one had a split in it so sometimes it felt a bit sluggish as it was faulty and wasn't holding boost properly as it should. But now it feels much stronger
Very happy :happy2:

COOL :happy2:

Finally got a tracking no for my parts to arrive to build my intake set up
-
Glad the new Rev G made a difference, be like having a mapped car but for only £38! I change mine every year to a new, minty fresh one. Treat it as a serviceable item (and you'll still be able to sell the year old G for £20).
If you haven't, I'd change the fuel filter too. VW also did a recall on the Coilpacks so check them or let the Stealers do it for you.
:happy2:
-
Yeah it was a massive improvement  as soon as I took her for a little back road blast to east grinsteaad I thought Jesus :driver:
Is the fuel filter something I could do at home ? I had her in at Crawley VW in September for coil packs as she had a miss fire , I was told they installed the new revision. Also my warrenty covered this work too so happy days :happy2:
Will I need to get my car mapped purity sharpies after I install the intake ? Or can it wait for a few weeks maybe January :signLOL:
J
-
Excuse my auto correct iPad sh*teness :signLOL: * pritty sharpish *
-
Check your service book to see if the fuel filter has been done, if it has not been done
Get a genuine vag one £40 changed
Also worth doing he plugs
-
I'm getting her MOTD in December so I'll ask them to carry out a fuel filter change at the same time :happy2:
£40 you can't argue with that if I'm honest
J
-
If heard that nology do brilliant quality spark plugs?
-
Hay J,
If your lucky the previous owner of your Eddy may have been an enthusiast known to change the Fuel Filter and hopefully it's been stamped. The Fuel filter is a non serviceable item on petrol cars according to VW, absolute codswallop if you ask me, its a filter, change it. I've never changed one myself, can be a faff and you may lose fuel if it goes Pete Tong!!
Part is about £25 and a good specialised will have it changed over in no time.
Fuel Filter change.......
~~ Clicky here ~~ (http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90764)
And you can add an intake and all will be well, no need for a map or anything. Plenty of peeps run a CAI on a stock car just for the noise alone.
:happy2:
-
The guy is on the forum I've spoke him before :happy2: had a issue with it loosing power under 1/4 of a tank turnt out to be a miss fire, resulting in the coil pack change :signLOL: if I can remember his forum name I'll ask him.
I'd probably change it anyway as I like to be on top of everything before things start failing or start to function less than 100%. When I get her booked I'm for the mot I'll have it changed
Also, I was going to ask you what your honest opinion is on a catch can?
I been a bit wary about the pcv failure and just been reading through regals site from last nights order and stumbled across a regal catch can which they state 100% illuminates pcv failure and then a long description about gasses oil vapour etc.
I want a awesome running ed30 and only want what's best to get it to my ' vision ' performance and handling wise in the future

Hi all
I'm abit wary about cutting engine cover/maf housing so that my silicone hose will fit so what I am think is just cutting the engine cover to fit with the intake on. Rather than try to cut the maf housing so that it fits.
My question is will this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Golf-MK5-2-0-GTI-Air-Flow-Mass-Sensor-PartsForU1-/230886599008?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35c1e9e960 fit my edition 30.
Obviously the turbo hose will go on one side and my intake will go the other?
Thanks
J
-
I have just checked the PN online and this doesn't fit my car, can you actually buy a maf pipe for the edition 30 or is carefully cutting the engine cover, leaving the maf housing intact the only way for me?
How hard will it be to cut the engine cover and maf housing so that I get a nice fit for my reducer hose to fit into? Any one out there has done this and is local id appreciate your help but of course pictures will be brilliant as well
Thanks
J
-
Emailed forge about a maf pipe with sensor slot, hoping for a reply by the weeks out.
Today I brought a newsouth boost gauge, offset column pod, tubing kit, wiring kit, no buzz T piece connector and all the wiring connectors for a bargain price. I also Brought some goodies off a member on here so hopefully that will turn up by the weekend so I can fit it all in one go :happy2:
I don't think the intake will be on until early next week :sad1: but not he other hand I think I'm making good progress for now though with my choice of mods
J
-
Parcel turned up for me today thanks to biffobear :happy2:
Forge BOV adapter, I know most of you will moan about boost leaks and so on but tbh I like them and I'll be installing this with my boost gauge Sunday when I'm off work so I can easily monitor if there is any change in boost through the gauge.
I'm not the type that drives 2nd gear to redline to get the loudest dshhhhhhhhh in the high street either, I'm keeping my car subtle and only using a good recommended parts from both yourselves and well used websites.

Cool. Yeah thinking about it, how much did it cost?

I paid £85 inc delivery plus the cost of a filter, I chose neuspeed but as you'll know there's many filters for the Gti. If you haven't got a aftermarket one you'll need a heatsheild to :happy2:

J
Hi mate,
Did forge ever come back to you about this part? I'm in the same boat as you, trying to put together a customer intake however I see the standard engine cover turbo end hoses reduces flow right down so not the best. It would also stop me from returning to standard in the future because of cutting the cover up.
Any info you have would be great!
-
Hi mate, no lie at all I've just signed for my MAF pipe and hose at 7:50 this morning :pomppomp:
Speak to forge, Jamie whatling, fantastic bloke really is mega helpful when you call him. they sell the MAF that comes in the there 'twin take' £66.66 + vat then a 60-70mm reducer hose to fit to the engine.
I'll be fitting everything I've bought (posted above and on the previous page) this weekend so have a look Saturday evening for some pics, maybe it'll help you to see a custom one been fitted :happy2: good luck with yours man

That sounds good, I'll wait to see pics before I buy I think. If you could take a couple of snaps of the part that would be great!
-
Hi mate
Yeah not a problem I can do that Saturday
-
Had nothing to do when I got home so I thought I'd build my intake ready for Saturday, measured and cut my 90mm pipework, filed all the cut ends off so there nice and smooth ready to be assembled to the hoses. I pinched a pair of the better halfs tights to wrap my filter in to help protect it from bugs and general crap off the roads.
Few pics below to show what I've came up with
