Title: GTI Insurance + Business Use =?
Post by: Eccie on August 26, 2009, 04:32:39 pm
Hi folks, I have read a number of articles on insurance on here, with recommendations for e.g. Greenlight & Adrian Flux etc

I wanted to hear from any members who have business use included on their policy, i.e. who offers it? (Currently with Zurich, renewal Oct)

I am trying to cut down the number of calls i have to make; both my wife and I have this cover on are main cars and as a named driver on the others - so we can swap cars if and when its needed, that way i get to drive the GTI more  Grin (greenlight & adrian flux can't do this)

Any help or info appreciated  Wink

posted in the right place now!

I use my Ed30 for business use - Swiftcover have quoted me £264 per annum although this rises to £300 if you add in extras such as legal cover.

Need to decide in the next week so it's between this and the mod friendly Greenlight  :happy2:

My modded Ed30 is insured with Greenlight and inc's Biz cover.

If you go on Compare the Meerkat, sorry Market you can specify business use. I did that recently and then again without it to see what the difference was between having and not having it. I think it was about £40 difference if I remember correctly and loads of companies did it. Might be worth a look mate.

Are you sure it does? I would check if I was you as they would not cover my ED30 for business use, only SDP.

Thanks for all the helpful info.

Just to clarify matters Greenlight will offer business use for the policy holder (wife) on the GTI, but won’t offer business use cover for the named driver (me) and won’t offer me cover on the Audi (non performance car) (maybe I should tune it )

I am waiting for my renewal premiums on both cars (£400 – 500) each and then will have to do some ringing around; I will let you all know what unfolds.

I guess it would be a real headache if the GTI was modified :scared:
