Over the past week I have had an annoying squeak while I am driving, it's coming from the n/s rear wheel. My first thought that it was a sticky caliper. I have had the car up in the air and replaced the pads as they were coming towards the end of their life, but the caliper was moving freely, then once pressing the brake, the caliper piston was moving out and then slightly in when letting off the brake pedal. It all went back together and is still making the noise. My next thought was it could be the wheel bearing, so got it in the air and tried to see if there was any play which there wasn't. I also checked the handbrake cable and that was all loose. I am starting to get towards the end of my tether and just don't know what else it could be. Has anyone else had anything like this before?

Have you laid the rear seats flat recently? Check to see if they've locked back into place properly. Had the same squeak the other day & it was that! Worth checking?

Cheers for the suggestions guys, I got to the bottom of it. After replacing the discs thinking it could be that. It turned out to be the rear arch liner rubbing against the inside edge of the alloy. Seems that the arch liners are made of a rough material which was making the squeak, cut that piece of arch liner and its all gone, so never underestimate the small things!
