Post by: DAZ1985 on August 27, 2013, 07:49:40 pm
Can anyone confirm that if my car is 07 plate and I have the diagnostic wire going into the control module then I only require the stalk and coding on vag com to make it work? 1KO 953 513 with no additional cable

My 56 plate had the wire, according to a VW dealer I spoke to, all had it after 2006 - not sure how correct this is though

Pretty sure my 06 had the wire - when I had the retrofit done it was pretty easy apparently...

My 07 was plug & play (with VCDS coding). I went with the G part no (cant remember the rest of it) - i'm told the earlier revisions can fail  :happy2:

All being well I should be fitting it Saturday. If the cables spare (which I'm guessing it will be) then I can sell it to you Rumple

Managed to do it today. Not too bad of a job once you find the hidden clips on the module.

I didn't need the wire either which saved abit of time

Had a scare moment when the steering position sensor showed a fault but after reset it, all was good
