Does it effect the resale value if your car has specialist service stamps rather than main dealer ?
I have a car that is full main dealer serviced so far.
ButI have just put the car into a vw specialist for a throttle pedal replacement along with a couple of other minor jobs & the service from them was brilliant.
I am now considering not using main dealer any more .
But will this dent resale ?

No. Nobody cares.

for a car the age of the Mk5 the money you save by getting serviced from a specialist will far outweigh any improvement in resale value
-
I figure as long as the specialist is reputable and doing everything by the book in regards to the service manual and using genuine parts.
I would not hold it against the seller.
Although all my cars have always been serviced main dealers :happy2:
I guess I never really found a specialist that I trust.
Anyone recommend any good VAG or VW specialist garages in London, possibly more North East?

Drive to Bedford and see Alex at AKS Tuning. He is on the forum under the name vRSAlex. I used to drive to see him when I lived in Stoke-on-Trent (yes he really is that good). I live in London now as I'm back at uni again. My car lives in Yorkshire with my parents and I still get work done with him.
Give him a go. I assure you you will not be disappointed

Depends on the age of the car and when your going to sell it and who to. If you intend to sell it back to the dealers and its between 0 - 5 years then dealer service. Anything over this or you plan to keep the car forever or not sell to a dealer then get it done by an independent like AKS, Stattlers, JKM etc

Thanks for the garage recommendations ... I will keep them in mind when I find my baby :happy2:

Decision made, specialist it is.
