What do they do with the cars once they have bought them ?
-
Probably auctions and places like Carcraft
-
When you put your car details in, dealers bid a price for it and then when you take it for them to look at they will ring the highest bidder and confirm it is as described then the deal is done. You had over the car and keys and they transfer the money into your account.
I sold my missus corsa that way got what I wanted for it.

Was looking for the thanks button , but can't find it , so THANKS
-
No "thanks button" in Random chat.
-
I thought they were part/owned by those car supermarket type companies.
-
Same group that owns car craft
-
They are now owned by British car auctions and have a sale everyday at a number of they're auctions.

The one I went to was just down the road from the Cannock Car Craft, and I asked the same question and he sed he was nothing to so with them, aren't there cars imports for Sweden and that? Sure one of my mates mk4 golfs cane from Sweden or Norway. Lol

This is correct.

Spend all the profit these b**stards make from offering silly money for cars. I got nearly 2 grand more than they offered selling mine privately.
Crooks who prey on the insecurity of people. Almost as bad as Checkatrade et al.

That's obvious. You would do. They are traders after all, so why would they pay more than book trade price like a private sale?
-
I think it's more the fact they are preying on the poor, desperate and its profiteering. Some people get offered up to 60% under book value. They are the car equivalent of the WONGA type companies.
-
Webuyanycar offered £1100 less than I was given as part exchange! They can be ok for getting rid of shopping cars/runarounds/ bangers but I don't think they would ever pay a fair price for a performance/prestige motor
-
No-one forces anyone to use it.
If someone DOES sell their car to them expecting super money and doesn't do any research that's not the companies fault.
Sometimes people would rather have the cash urgently sort of thing, and sometimes you do get a decent price. It very much depends.
-
I've only ever put my details in twice, both times they offered me just under what I ended up taking as Part ex.
-
That's their game plan, competive quite online then you go to one of their centres and all of a sudden now they have seen your car in the flesh it's worth a lot less than they quoted

:congrats: spot on

I'm not defending them, but how many people describe a car as mint and it's actually got loads of marks on it.
If you are completely honest with every mark/dent/scratch they would not knock you down on price because it's as described.
And again, my point - If they do you can just walk away!? :drinking:
It happened to me when I buying a GTI ... went to one car advertised on the forum as in good condition and it was genuinely one of the worst condition cars I've ever seen. Had not even been washed let alone cleaned in the last 25 years.
-
Cant see how people can call them crooks really. Its simply up to the customer if they want to part with their car or not.
These cars get sent to auction and sold on at a lower price than a forecourt would advertise them, Hence why they have to pay less for them.
If you think a private garage adds a 1/2k premium onto a car than what they have bought in in for it probably works out about the same profit percentage
-
seen lots of there cars in manheim car auction in leeds
good bit of business they do
