Title: Is the PCV valve also known as the PRV valve?

I recently went to a dealer and asked them to look at this and change it as the car was having some issues. The dealer at fist said they did not know what this was... Then after some confusion and a day later they said they had changed a PRV valve. So just wanted to know is it also known as the PRV valve or are they covering for the fact they did not know what it was initially? Thanks.

PCV is Pressure Control Valve. Although I havent heard it called PRV, I guess it might reasonably be called a Pressure Release Valve. I've also heard them referred to as breather units.

have you got the invoice? what is the part number of the item they changed?
