Title: RNS 510 & RCD 510 / Help please!

Afternoon guys,

I am new on here and not too clued up on the vw rns/rcd's but I recently had a factory crap stereo in my mk5 gti, replaced it with an after market pioneer unit and was not a fan at all. I have decided to go for a rcd or rns 510 as they look very smart, do everything I would want and fit the centre console perfectly.

I would just like to ask what do I need to know when looking for / buying one? Like the must factors when going for one? Also what are the main differences between the rcd and the rns?

My car is a 2006 mk5 gti if that helps in any way?

Rcd = non satnav
Rns = satnav

Also you may also need an update canbus gateway to avoid battery drain issues.
