As stated above.
I keep having this intermittent fault where the windows won't close sometimes and now it's stuck halfway!
I put the car on VCDS and it's stated a wiring fault, but I can hear the door controller clicking away when i press the button but it only clicks on one direction. I did look at the controller outputs and the window regulator says it's fully up/closed.. so how would I reset this?
Another note: If i I play with the button too much, the thermal cut-out trips.
So would this sound like a new motor needed to you guys? Or something like an earth somewhere?

Alright mate
Sounds similar to a problem I had the other month with me it was the window regulator, when I took the door skin off all of the wires had rusted and seized around the cogs, maybe give this a look?

Thanks pal, I'll have a look at that in the week. Is it a replacement job, or just a bit of WD-40 loving?
I gotta say, I'm loving the helpfulness of this forum! Epic stuff :driver:

Volkswagen - great at making cars, SH*T at making window regulators.
Ive owned a few VW's now and they all have the same issues... My 6n2 polo was by far the worst! window regs used to go for a past time & were particularly tricky to fit!

That guide given me some great tips, Thanks!
I'll buy the regulators then :) £25 each on ebay with a 2Yr guarantee :drinking:
