Title: JKM and Streetwise Automotive
Post by: robern2 on August 29, 2009, 04:52:07 pm
My thanks to JKM for extremely prompt service, I ordered my whiteline anti-lift kit and ferodo pads on wednesday afternoon at 2.30, it arrived at 08.30 thursday and was all fitted friday at Streetwise automotive. A painless experience all round.

Roll on the Forge twintake.

Streetwise Automotive are now appointed agents for Blueflame and ITG so go and get the lot fitted whilst you're getting your REVO. :happy2:

Streetwise is a VAG independant specialist based in St George/Lawrence Hill Bristol.

Next bit taken from his website:

Streetwise Automotive is owned and managed by Mitch Bull, who has over 17 years experience in the motor industry. His interest in motor mechanics started in his early years when his father ran his own car repair centre in Bristol. Mitch began his career as an mechanical apprentice then when qualified worked his way through a catalogue of official VW training courses, became workshop supervisor, foreman then eventually went on to manage one of the UK's largest VAG main dealer workshops.

The website can be found here: http://www.streetwise-automotive.co.uk/

There's a few people on the forum who have there cars looked after here and so far all good accounts! Good rates, all work undertaken(dsg servicing etc) friendly service and secure compound. Recommended. :happy2:

I had a very good experience with Streetwise recently when I used them for my MOT - at £35, can't complain.

I was pleasantly surprised by their premises - far bigger than I was expecting and very clean and professional.

Mitch is a friendly and helpful bloke - even gave me a free emissions test a couple of days later after my car failed the first time.

Will definitely be using them for general maintenance etc in the future.

JKM need no introduction I'm sure - been down to Portsmouth 3 times now with a boot full of second hand kit for them to chuck on the car, never received anything but excellent service.

A further quick thanks to Mitch at Streetwise who thanks to a quiet moment at the workshop was only happy to come out for a joy ride with me to do some logging to check the timing was ok given the warmer temps on my ed30.

Peace of mind and another clean bill of health.

Just a note of caution on Streetwise - they do not use fully synthetic oils as a matter of routine.  If you read this: http://www.streetwise-automotive.co.uk/services.htm, they state the only use semi-synthetic oil on their 'full servicing', and will only use the "correct specification oil" for their 'Longlife servicing'.  Maybe best to confirm beforehand with them that you only want the correct spec LongLife 3 oil for any service they do.
