Replaced silicone round the bath with Plumbers Gold - meant to have 10 years guarantee. Is now black after a few weeks and worse than before was replaced.
I think this in part is due to standing water as too many bottles of shower gel/shampoo/ etc are left standing on side of bath and water not escaping so these will be removed and bath wiped down once replaced but.... which is the best silicone to use??

I've used anti mould silicone with no issues. Make sure you rip out every last bit of the old silicone.
However, like you say standing water may be your issue. Try some shower spray, and also a quick blast with some great anti mould spray bleach after each shower works well.
The last house we rented suffered terrible condensation issues in the bathroom, so I had to do this weekly.

yeah ventilation should not be an issue so pretty sure it just needs standing water to be removed and then sprayed down with something decent

I think I used unibond... but the other stuff is great too, we used the clear version of it to seal the sink onto the unit. :happy2:

unibond purchased :happy2:, one more question though if i use it to seal my rims to the tyres will i be quicker than an R32?

Not sure about which silicone is best but I always clean our showers with HG mould spray - it's very good & very strong so watch you don't spill it http://www.amazon.co.uk/HG-186050106-Mould-Spray/dp/B000IU40HQ (also available from other suppliers)

We use the Dow Corning 785+ or 786 is what we use at work as it meets NHS hospital BS standards for resistants to mould and bacteria, E. coli and MRSA.

cheers will bear in mind if the unibond fails

I use a bleach spray to regularly (well maybe once a fortnight) to clean these areas. The bleach will kill any mould generally but helps if there are good ventilation and no standing water.

I'm a decorator, and only ever use Everbuild Caulk. Great stuff that actually moves with expanding and contracting wood, rather than just splitting. Can be used inside or out. And it's 1.50 a tube! Brilliant.
