Cheers

Close to JKM's. not particularly "generous"

Anyone from North London/Herts? I think I may fancy this. Would be interested to see what the R32 actually puts down. I found a sticker on the inside of the drivers door with "150ps" :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

John, if you're going I assume its a 4WD dyno? :drinking:
I may be tempted :innocent:

Nah they just pull the plug on the haldex. They did John's and a few other S3's at the last dyno day.
Unlike JKM, they can dyno a 4wd car :ashamed:

Neither can dyno a genuine 4WD car however both can dyno a car with a Haldex.
JKM choose not to as the results are never ideal and if you wonder why just touch the Haldex unit afterwards it will be red hot. :happy2:
-
^^ sorry Ian, by 4WD I meant Haldex. Although you could remove the prop on a proper 4WD car (not on a dyno day with a queue of cars behind)
I don't understand the mechanics of the box, but the dyno should remove the haldex losses like it does with a standard gear box to work out the flywheel figure. As we all know flywheel figures are just from calculations of wheel figures.
The fact that many people dyno haldex cars and I've never heard of a failure as a result of it, I'm not sure what the problem is? Open to a lesson in haldex mechanics and the dangers of dynoing in 2wd mode from any specialists. It's not really been discussed on this forum. . .
-
R-Tech will do it as they have a lift in front of the dyno. JKM wont do it for several reasons, and im sure one of those is they cant be fecked scrambling on the floor to remove the haldex doofer thingy bob!.

I had a good day too...shame i was 26th in the que though lol,oh well..plus points R tech made just over 2200 for charity and my golf ed30 made 354hp with 380 torques so well chuffed with that..
Overall an excellent day which was well run..
Well done R-tech. :happy2:
-
They hit the 2K mark that they were after then :happy2:

Over £2500 apparently John.

Decent output that. :happy2:

My result below.
Over 350bhp by 4800rpm and flat lines over 390bhp between 6000-7000rpm
Also over 300lbft of torque available from 3200-6600rpm, with over 350lbft from 3500-5500rpm. :jumpmove:
The most noticeable thing is absolutely no dips in power delivery, just one big surge of power to 7000rpm.

Less pwr/trq below 3k than a Stage 1 K03
Seriously though, amazing figures there! :happy2:
-
Was a great day and even the weather played ball. 2.5k raised is fantastic. :happy2:
I do believe that i was the happiest guy there though, my stage one custom map by R-tech ran an amzing 267bhp and 324ftlb!!! :driver:
nuespeed intake and uprated helix clutch and flywheel are my mods. Brand new Borg K03 (also).
Look how long it hold peak figures for!! :congrats:

Spotted that on Facebook, very good numbers off stage 1, only 6bhp off my stage 2+
Edit: and more bloody torque!
-
Did they revise the K03 turbo at all? Was yours a brand spanking new one from VW; that's an awesome set of numbers for S1 K03.

I am not too sure mate, Statller Power developments in sheffield ordered me a brand new Borg warner k03.
I run it on Vpower, use Millers Nano tech oil, have a helix stage 1 clutch and flywheel (355ftlbs limit), neuspeed intake, the down pipe may have had its pre cat removed but i am not 100% (emissions are spot on), its actually from an S3 but its the same size as the OEM golf gti.
Nik Gower take a bow son :congrats:

Or WMI and a Nik gower map? James has had 400bhp on the same dyno. . .
-
thought about an r tech map before but tbh it drives just the way i want so not guna remove the revo software to gain 10 bhp or sumet..
just a thought can i run wmi with the revo software, has it enough adjustability to do that or does it go to stage 3,not really looked into it so not sure.
-
I think you can run WMI with Revo, but you need it setting up by someone who knows what they're doing.
Not sure if Revo support the LOBA turbo though
-
il give steve at statller a ring,he did my stage 2+ other week so i trust him....so knowledgeable..
-
Here's James's graph on same dyno with K04 and WMI.
Made more power than Hurdy's at peak without the expense on the LOBA  although Hurdy's curve is stronger
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,43854.msg538061.html#msg538061
398bhp. That's quite a step up from Stage 2+
-
Was he running normal fuel that day or race fuel/additives?
I know he was on a more potent WMI mix like me.
-

It was pump fuel (99RON) with no additives.
Was speaking to James about this over PM. A proper overlay of both your graphs would be useful. For pub bragging figures, James has it in the bag. But I'd guess that the LOBA has a better midrange?
This was on his old BWA engine too.
Nick was struggling with low pressure fuelling around 400bhp and they never tried the TT RS pump. There may be more left in his setup :surprised:
-
I know I'd love to see what Nick could do with your LOBA
-
I think I would end up with 390-400bhp aswell.
James has the willy waving numbers at 400bhp, but that's 400bhp below 5500rpm, post 5500rpm the power tails dude to turbo VE, the loba will continue to make 400bhp by 7000rpm and will be 50bhp+ up on the Ko4.
It's two totally different tuning methods for each turbo, small ko3 ko4 turbos need to but worked hard midrange to get the area under the curve, fast strong spooling.
Where the bigger turbos/hybrids get tuned for extended area under the curve, trying to hold the torque flat and ad long as you can, this will make the rpm carry on climbing up to the rpm limiter. The faster car would be the one with the most area under the torque curve.
I have my first ko4 hybrid to tune in a few weeks.

I'd be interested to see what you could do with a hybrid K04.....Is it a Loba?
