nice easy question for a wed morning..
How many jobs have you had?
Reason i ask.. i'm currently sitting here updating my CV and curious as to what people think may be an excessive number?
I'm 31, and the CV reads that i'm on number 8 since i left school at 16. (two were my apprenticeship as my first employers went under)
What would be considered "job hopping"?
-
1 :signLOL:
-
I'm also 31 and have been PAYE for 12 firms, sounds a lot but some were just small jobs/one off trips.
In my current job I get hired out to companies like NOV & Aker etc most trips but they're not counted :ashamed:
-
which NOV office?
I'm not sure "job hopping" is as big a deal offshore than it is for jobs at home as lot of guys change rigs alot.. well thats what i'm hoping as i want a move off this platform already! haha

Stavanger

It's expected offshore if your not core crew!
-
1 since school, 22 years ago :signLOL:
-
About 12 on my CV, I think, but I have skipped a few short ones by padding out the dates either side!
-
I've been working freelance in the aviation industry since 2005, reckon it must be at least 70 different contracts. It's got to tue point I only put the last 5 years or so on my CV

this.
Don't list all your job on your CV. last 5 years or 3 jobs is sufficient, I have had to make my way through thousands of CV's recently and anything more than 2 pages gets binned
-
i was always told no more than 3 pages and you'll be fine.
I hate updating my CV.. its totally cringe.. lol
-
^^Haven't even looked at mine since 2010, should probably take a few things off and update it.
-
I don't have a CV... I think the last time I did one was when you do a mock one during A levels. :signLOL:
-
6 companies, but for the last 12 years lots (read 20+) of various customers.

-
age 40, and 7 jobs (not counting the gap year job or college years jobs at Tesco). Now self employed and have been for a few years.
-
Since graduation in 2003, i have had 5 jobs, now 31, currently looking for the 6th after being made redundant in April. The summer has been great though
At a recent Interview it was noted on my CV that i have stayed at companies once joined, i was told it seems normal for people to stay 12-18mths then change again.
My CV is 2 pages max, clearly laid out, anything long winded seems to get binned :signLOL:
-
6 jobs for 3 companies in 15 years plus the self employed bit. Now packed in and starting the life of a student for 3 years as of Thursday next week. I'd actually stripped my CV down to 1 page at one point but it needs to be 2 to include the detail.
-
24 years, 3 different job titles, all in the same company.
They'll be carrying me out of here in a box!

I'd best change my route home!! :signLOL:

I'm currently 33. It's my Birthday today!! :drinking:
Excluding a few part time and summer jobs while i was at school and college, I have had 2x jobs. Although in my 2nd job I have had 2 different roles.
-
I'm 28 and have had 3 Jobs all with at least 2 years in each.....................oh offshore core crew has its pros and cons been doing it 7 years, but the 2 and 3 is good.
Cheers Dan

Age 39 and 12 jobs.but then I'm a temp

38 and on my 3rd employer and 2nd line of work, left school in 91 and served 5yrs as an apprentice and a joiner then was made redundant and ended up in the food industry working as a Technologist which I've done ever since.
-
Apart from the temp work in between redundancies (3), I probably have had 8 employers in total (i'm 41). Mostly in retail taking various values of money from people (£10-£28,000). Now in Basic skills tutoring/training and probably staying at it.
-
I'm on my second full-time job since the age of 21 (I'm 35 now). Prior to that I only had part-time casual jobs in college/university holidays.
-
paper round
2 waiters jobs - part time
1 full time employment job - qs
-
4 and im 22

Depending on how my interview goes on Wednesday it could be 7 jobs. Not sure if it counts as the same employer as the company is a joint venture between Vodafone and O2 (R.A.N sharing)
-
5 rolls across 3 employers in 7 years!
Job hunting as we speak!
-
Mine must be 2 main contractor positions of 2-3yrs (1 was my graduate job) and 2 short self-employed stints in between them. That's from 2007-2013.
-
From a Junior to Senior position and hopefully just about to take a wee jump to a managerial position to boost fund-age and responsibilities. Currently on 2 jobs, 1 whilst in college.

So after an 2 hour interview this morning I received a job offer 18 minutes after leaving the building. So that's 7 jobs now in 13 years :)

^^^^ :congrats:

Its the job i have been trying to secure since moving out of Telecoms Project Management in 2009. Acquisition & Build positions in the Telco space are notorious difficult difficult to find, perm opportunities don't come around that often either!
THe package includes a company car allowance as well - Awesome!
