Hi guys
I am purchasing a GTI bumper for my Golf GT TDI 140,
The bumper does not have any fog lights but I was wondering if the fog lights from my GT TDI will fit straight on. Or
Will I need an adapter cable or any extra housing to make them fit.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

It won't fit lights are completely different

Also the harness is different you can buy a harness or like I did cut the wires and attach spade connectors to fog lights - connectors are only about 20pence from car shops

What I did was split the lights, so use the plug/bulb and 'back' half from your standard unit, then the glass/front from GTI ones. Never ever had an issue, you could always put a bead of silicon around where they join as it is hidden.
I know others did this too.

Excellent idea

This is why I love reading these advice sections - some clever solutions to tricky problems, which generally have a common thread, they all look to save you money! :congrats:

Perfect Solution. I'm going to have to give it a go.
Will the actual tdi back end clip onto the GTI front end?
Because the Fogs unclip like you mentioned by pushing away the two connectors holding it together and unscrewing the leveller. But will the tdi back end clip straight in or will the need to be siliconed together.

I never siliconed mine, it was an afterthought once I had sold the car. There is a rubber gasket that keeps it tight as well
