Title: Brake disc life
Post by: SeanMk5 on September 17, 2013, 06:44:59 pm
Hi all,

Can't find if this has been covered or not but what kind of mileage should I expect out of standard discs? I know it depends how they've been driven and if it sits for long periods etc but what's a general ball park figure?

Cars in for a service (43,000 miles on the clock) and need new discs...thought I might have got a little more out of them but apparently they're at a point where I may as well change them now.

Cheers,

Sean

Dont forget if you're talking front or rear, type of pads installed (some are a lot harder on the discs over others), the type of driving (motorway over city) and as you mentioned the type of driver (heavy or grandad braking).
