Title: DSG gear selector clicking and unable to get keys out of ignition
Post by: flashp on September 21, 2013, 09:18:13 pm
I've recently noticed that on occasion I can't remove the keys from the ignition barrel without being fairly firm (not heavy handed) when I push the selector to 'P'. I also notice that the clicking that is the mechanism engaging and dis engaging when the foot brake is pressed might be louder than it has been in the past. If you push the lever gently forwards while in park the clicking is much less audible.

Now I can't say I've ever noticed this clicking before. Not being able to get my keys out bought my attention to it. My question to you good people is have you noticed anything like this or had issues with keys not being able to be removed  from the ignition??

Any info gratefully received!  :happy2:

Do you park on a hill or allow your car to roll even slightly different after putting it in park?

No...I usually apply handbrake and move to park while holding foot brake down. Only once I've noticed it be lumpy when going from P to D when not applying foot brake enough.
