Title: Need fitting instructions for ipod adapter 000 051 444k

As above says I bought a 2nd hand ipod adapter for my golf. Managed to work out where the blue plug goes but confused on the other two? Are they the earth wires? If so can I just attach the actual bare copper wire to a bare metal screw on the back of the headunit? If someone has fitted this or has instructions I would appreciate the help.
