Title: After stolen gti
Post by: divweir on October 04, 2013, 06:31:44 pm
After seeing my gti today in pound after being stolen. I think it's a write off the thing is much will insurance offer me .  57 candy white gti remap colour coded bumpers not a high spec but only 33000 miles. Thing is what next another gti , I'm not too sure loved my car but so sick after getting it stolen .  Did they break into my house because it's a nice car  I should not let the low life pick next car but wife says she don't want anything fancy incase it happens again .

Fit a traker , fit your house with cctv

Use a disklok & keep the key seperate from your car keys

Probably not alot else you can do , but theives seem to steal most cars

Just have a look on piston heads

Cant imagine what state i would be in if somebody stole mine. Im peeping out the window all the time & my car is parked outside my living room window. Got the sps switch which has the anti theft mode, which is a great gadget just for that reason. Im gutted for you mate & like others have said, dont be put off buying an other as they are a great machine

Thats the way it used to be back in the 1990's when hot hatches went missing non stop

I used to not go to sleep till 4am , my car had 2 immobilisers & 2 mechanical locks , it was a nightmare

It's wrong. We get up & go to work to earn a living & support our family & treat yourself to nice things & some DIRTY STINKING SCUM come along with not a care in the world & destroy your privileges . I feel for this guy! Im TAMPING for him  :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

Ive just been reading through this http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,45092.0.html

Upgrade security, fit sash jammers to all doors & keep house keys seperate to car keys.

You could even get a blank car key and leave it on the stairs that way, if they find them, it buys you extra time.

Never let the scum dictate what you can have in life.

Like the police said  to me if they want something they will get it, don't let it put you off in anyway and try not to take it personally it is one of those things. :sad1:

Alarms don't work when they break into your house and take keys

Revo , SPS+ and anti theft mode

Doesn't help if you don't have revo or if the car gets lifted tho.
