Title: Replacing old RCD300 with RCD310
Post by: cb81gti on October 06, 2013, 02:55:11 pm
So, after having my old system turning itself on whenever it felt like it, i found out the radios motherboard was to blame.
I've now been given a RCD310 from a mk6.
Would anyone know if this would be a direct plug and play? or would it need setting up via vagcom?
And what i've read on here, cars prior a certain age (2007??), my car being a 2004 gti, would it need this canbus to stop battery drain?
If the latter, what does it look like, coz i've not a clue!!

on a 2004 car you will need a new gateway

I have new pre-coded gateways

This should help explain it

You'll need one if you fit your replacement, if you don't want a battery issue - best bet is to use Eddie-NL above, as his price is rarely beaten and it will come coded!
