Hello,
A week ago shortly after parking back in the drive, I heard a loud hissing sound from under the bonnet, which gradually reduced and then stopped after about 5 minutes. I couldn't be sure where it was coming from, somewhere under/near the alternator (?). There was no fluid loss on the ground. I have since noticed that the heater/aircon is not working. The heater/aircon control switches/dials are all working, the blower is working, the engine is running up to temp fine, and there are no warning lights on the dash. Any ideas what the problem might be, or directions to previous posts with this problem would be greatly appreciated, before I contact the garage! (2008 Golf gti ed30, 25,000 miles, regularly serviced).
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Paul.

Hi Doylebros,
Thanks for the link, think the garage will have to have a look...hopefully just a regas? will post up the result later!

If the gas has gone - probably what the hiss was - then something has failed, to let the gas out....... A seal or joint perhaps?
I'm not sure a regas will sort it in that case! Fingers crossed, but you could be in for a bigger bill. :sad1:
