Post by: jakex181 on October 08, 2013, 09:44:48 pm
Today I noticed that when I put my foot down the turbo felt asif it was kicking in late at around 4500rpm, when putting my foot down I can hear the turbo spinning up and whistling and then boost comes :/ I haven't noticed it before, any ideas, I'm gna be replacing my dv soon anyway could it be this?

Just take the existing DV out and take a look at it. It's a really quick job.

Car on ramps, get under it, take 3 bolts out and hey presto, you'll soon see if it's a problem.

There are a whole load of other things it could be if it's not the DV but as they are the most common part to go wrong it's sensible to check there first. Ours was really well split and there were no fault codes or engine management light on etc.

Tested it again today, you can hear the turbo whining loads then the boost comes at like 5k, is this a common symptom of a broken dv?
