Title: Rust warranty help please (success)
Post by: Andy1994 on October 09, 2013, 05:36:55 pm
car is booked in on friday to have two recalls done on the car, while im there i dont know if i should mention the rusty wings and sills for a warranty claim as the dealer doesnt have a bodyshop on site so will they still check it and acknowldege the problem or will i need to go to a dealer with a bodyshop.

i cant seem to find a vw dealer with a bodyshop near glasgow

It could be worth asking. My dealer doesn't have a bodyshop on site, but they have an approved one nearby that they use for their work.  It's possible they might have a similar set up at yours.

Phonecall from the dealer this morning saying my rusty wing and door sills  are under warranty and no mention of any charge. Will be rebooking the car when I go to pick it up will need to see how it gets on at ye bodyshop but. Anyone know if they blend? Don't want two different colours on the car, it's black if that matters

Well done!  :happy2:
Some people have said bodyshop wouldn't blend theirs but others have said they did. When I got mine done they never mentioned blending, so I don't know if they did or not. Mine is black too, but they seem to have got a good match anyway. There is no noticeable difference.
