Ive been researching common problems for the 2.0 TFSI engine, i have seen this issue surrounding the air conditioning compressor. What are the sympstoms of this problem?
Cheers

Happened to me about a month ago.
Basically the Air Con just blows warm air. Doesn't get cold any more. Had it re-gassed and then VW confirmed that the compressor is dead. Was told the part is about £550, was quoted £800 odd to replace it. Going to wait until it gets warm again next year before doing it.

The clutch stops engaging the freewheel happened on my tsi :sad1:

Ok so no strange sounds or anything? I ask because I get a belt slip sound from the engine then ?

There's parts on this link which may help you as alternator pulleys can cause issues

My aircon didn't work, so I had it re-gassed and it was fine they said it was holding pressure. Then after a couple of months it got worse now it doesn't work at all there's just a faint hissing noise when the aircon is turned on. Is it likely to be a compressor issue?

Cheers for that, It sounds very similar to mine. I think I'll look into getting a new switch and see how it goes from there. :)

Don't forget to tell them you want the dye added, in case the gas leaks away again allowing a route for further testing!

They put a dye in when I had it gassed earlier this year I'll get them to have a look when I get chance to take it in.
