Gti headlights will in my opinion improve the front so much. The standard Headlights are so light. No pun intended lol.

Like the wheels and dipped bits though.
Title: Re: My mk5 jetta
Post by: Pee08 on October 11, 2013, 08:43:42 am
yea totally agree with the lights and great pun

dipped was just to see if I liked the black plus its on the original grill with the number plate holes
so the plan is to buy a smooth grill and get it all painted up gloss black.
also the dip can be just peeled off which is a brucie bonus  :happy2:

Nice seeing a Jetta on here, I would've had one if it wasn't for insurance :sad1:
But yeah, I think the GTI lights would look awesome too.
She's a beaut' haha :happy2:

Looking great mate :). Really want some GLI side skirts myself.  Also as said GTI headlights would look great.

Thought I'd mention as well.  If you find the rear lights are too red for your liking I've managed to slighty tint mine.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fw613%2FP13DTW%2Fphoto5_zps0cd411b8.jpg&hash=8b875bfad17f88e7e0fc3effd208b2706f32f320)

I masked of the inner part of the light and just sprayed the red.  They look alot better IMO and would look great with your colour car.

Another option is also the R32 rear lights (look quite similar).  Not sure if the Golf rear lights are same as the Jetta though. I've never really looked properly.

Have you considered lamin-x on the headlights as a temp mod?

Polo6 on here wrapped his rears in red and they look sweet

I used this below mate :).  Just took my time masking off the circles and sprayed around 5 very fine layers over the whole light.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tail-Light-Headlight-Lens-Smoke-Paint-Hycote-400ml-/230598044278?pt=UK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint&hash=item35b0b6ea76 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tail-Light-Headlight-Lens-Smoke-Paint-Hycote-400ml-/230598044278?pt=UK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint&hash=item35b0b6ea76)

If you're wanting to do it use this spray.  There are other cheaper ones but they seem to be really matt whereas this one is more glossy.

Not sure if it can be fitted to your Jetta, its to low! Sell it to me!  :signLOL:
There are a few screws underneath T20 or T25 and it should just pull off.
Check out the ebay splitter thread link below for fitting.

Nice to see another jetta on here!!

All red rears:-

Xenon style headlights & colour coded chrome:-

Loving the landrover rims!! I've got a few sets of rims - VW phaeton champions & AMG 18" split rims. And mine is so low I've had to put a strip of wood at the bottom of the driveway at my parents to get it up the drive!!
Title: Re: My mk5 jetta
Post by: Pee08 on November 17, 2013, 10:49:03 pm
Cheers guys, I'd love some xenons it's just the price that's putting me off! Might go gti lights for next year and thinkin of having the front end smoothed. Are the all red rears gli? I'm thinkin of gettin some 19's soon. Keep a low arch gap but raise her off the ground as I can only turn right out of my street as if u go left I get stuck on humps  :sad1:

Had mine since last October. It's also got a back box delete, modded airbox & nuts remap to 185bhp!! Handles well, goes great and does 61mpg. Cruise control retro fitted, brakes upto 312mm, on coilovers, heko wind deflectors. I bought it to replace a Touran and a Fabia Vrs.

mine are 20mm all-round but I would suggest 25 or 30 on the rear to fill out but you will need to do the archs

Post by: Polo6n1600i on November 19, 2013, 08:02:25 pm
Take top of airbox off, rip out the guts in there - better airflow - plus sounds better. Drop in a k&n. Job done!!
Still on original clutch and flywheel at 77k. Turbo is doing fine also. Depends on how you drive them. Don't give then big beans at low revs, swop the oil feed and return for a dark developments parts (better design than the hard vw parts) plus use long life oil - but change it every 8000 miles. Keep things running as they should.
