Hi all
Looking for a set of hid's but I've read/heard many different things regarding fitting them like, " after 2 weeks wiper motors burn out" they will out a light on the dash, there illegal unless you have self leveling or washers.......
As you can imagine I am confused as like most things on the web you type in one thing and get 10M different answers :jumping:
Any correct! Info would be much appreciated.....of course a few pictures Oma. Black ed30 would be nice :happy2:
Cheers guys in advance

You need projector headlamps first.
If you put a hid kit in reflector type headlamps then the beam will be all over the place.
I just sold a set of depo headlamps with hids in them.
They will cost you just under £300 for aftermarket depo ones with a hid kit.
Or look to pay around £450 for a set of genuine xenons.

Hi mate
Thanks for the quick reply, I guess il have to keep my eyes peeled in the for sale section as I'm not very trusting with parts from eBay I.e buying bits from german and us sellers.
Thanks for the info mate , :happy2:

I bought my projector headlamps from ebay.
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=271214717899
And the hid kit was from hids direct.
A lot of us on here have the above setup and cant fault it.it comes with warranty for a peice of mind.
If you want to go genuine , theres a set on ebay going for 550

The law is that the beam pattern must be correct.
You do NOT need washers or levelers . I have had this confirmed from Vosa. Look on uk-mkivs for it.
Having seen the beam pattern the DEPO projectors are not the best to be honest I would recommend getting the Hella ones. The project unit is a higher quality.
While having projectors is not a requirement it is generally understood that projectors give the better beam pattern. If you fit HIDs to stock headlights they are terribly glarey and dangerous to other road users.

I have got hid in my standard headlights and can't fault them one bit the beam looks spot on

You probably can't but the poor people driving towards you certainly can.
Two Mk5s in my local area have HID kits in stock headlights and they are appalling.
Good beam pattern (cut off)
