Title: Rectangular hole & sticky Velcro in centre console handbrake area

My car has the basic centre handbrake cup holder unit. Between the handbrake & the rear bottle holder is a cubby hole I usually put my wallet & phone in.

In the side closest to the handbrake is a rectangular whole with a bit of sticky back Velcro stuck over it.

Does anyone know the original purpose of it?

More importantly I'd like to fill the whole either a USB charging point, any recommendations on parts to do so?

I don't need iPod connectivity as I already have my iPod wired into the glovebox.

Yes, we'll my hole is on the inside not outside as I don't have the arm rest but it's the same thing.

So can I get a USB socket to fit the hole?

These ones don't normally have any other holes for USB/aux so if you have another hole someone must have put it in themselves

I see. Someone has put a hole in it, probably for similar to what you wanted to do
