Title: Sticky handbrake/caliper
Post by: JigBake on October 15, 2013, 12:16:42 pm
Over the last few weeks I have been suffering a sticky handbrake/caliper on the drivers side. The disc's and pads are only a couple of months old.

Does anybody have any recommendations as to rebuilding/refurbing or buying new calipers. Whatever I do, I may as well do both sides.

Cheers.

Take the caliper off, grease the handbrake cable, wind the piston back a couple of times; check for any tears in the boot.

I replaced both my rear callys about 18 months ago, been fine, but now they've started grabbing again. :rolleye:

It might be just the excuse you need to get some Caddy rear calipers!

I done all that when I changed my disc's and pads a couple of months ago. So that probably wont work. Does anybody know how much new calipers would be??

Just had a look on Euro Car Parts website and its £106 per caliper Painted! I think at that price its worth just getting new ones. Its quite reasonable. Mine needed a lick of paint any way.

Thanks.
