Title: My coil springs are upside down!
Post by: Roadrebel on October 15, 2013, 01:10:25 pm
The smaller diameter end is at the bottom and doesn't sit properly on the strut.
Shouldn't the small diameter coil be at the top? If so, I wonder how the large diameter coil is retained by the smaller plate at the top!

Should I be worried or am I wrong?

Problem solved!

The springs were twisted round 180 degrees so the bottom wasn't seating correctly. This caused the spring to tilt and look wrong.

I lifted the car to ease pressure on the springs and found I could turn them by hand to their correct position in the bottom plate.

Hopefully they will now stay there!
