Hello All,
After a recent trip over to England, I need to update my Maps! Apparrantly the A4 now has a tunnel, and Weymouth has new roads since the Olympics.
I have the following:
RNS 510
Delivery part No 1T0035680C
HW-VERSION HO4
SW-VERSION 2760
SV SW VERSION C-EU-9.242-T520
HW VEHICLE 0XC001
MAP VERSION 3 (!)
ACTIVE MAP COVERAGE EUROPE
ACTIVE MAP SUPPLIER NAVTEQ
MAP VERSION HDD 6317
I have seen the following, and would like to know if anybody has tried this product, and if so does it work?
http://www.satnav-update.com/vw-rns510810-2012-2013-v9-satnav-dvd-update-183-p.asp
Thanks for any help or advice.

And I'm sure someone will offer help on the Map V9 issue.

Hi Doyle,
Thanks for your reply.
I have used that thread when I updated the firmware last year, but It didnt have any effect on the maps, which I think needs seperate software. Have read that the VW map update is £198, the alternative in my link is only £29......hence why I ask if its ok.
Thanks again,
Woody

Go to the wanted section and ask if any one is selling their V9 maps - you may be pleasantly surprised as I've seen them offered before.
-
Thanks Doyle, good advise.

Have now updated Nav maps, burned my own disc from the net, Ver 9, 7918. Was hoping this had 7 digit postcode search, but looks like it dosnt. What version of navigation has 7 digit postcode?
Thanks for any replies.

What version of navigation has 7 digit postcode?
In addition to upgrading your maps, you have to also upgrade your unit's 2760 firmware to get the 7 digit post code option.

I have 7 digit postcode entry using FW2760 and map version 7920. My RNS510 is an early 'A' unit that now appears as a 'C'........
Back to you Bacillus!

My understanding is that the 7 digit postcode only appeared with the later firmware versions BUT if you say you have it with FW version 2760, I'm not going to doubt you.

I can guarantee I have 7 digit postcode entry - it drove me mad when it was only 5 digit! Here are screenshots of my 'secret menu' and the unit serial number, FW & Map version numbers. I'd like to upgrade further if there's a benefit but I understand with my early RNS it could be risky.
