Title: I feel so dirty!

Fuel light came on this morning after work. Went to petrol station but it was closed. Went before work just now. 20 miles left according to the onboard computer. Repeat trip to the same shell garage showed it was still closed. Nearest shell garage was ten miles away. Didn't think I'd make it. Realised there was a BP garage nearby. BP Ultimate 97 Ron. Only put it 5 litres but it still feels so wrong.

Learnt three things:
1. Fill up as soon as possible rather than waiting for the light.
2. Despite my previous city mpg of 20-25mpg, I can make 32mpg!
3. Using anything other than 99 RON is bad for your soul as much as it is for the car.

Post by: Matjazz on September 07, 2009, 08:42:54 am: One time I filled up 54,4 liters. According brochure the tank has 55 liters capacity. It was 4 a clock in the morning and I need to come accross tunnel (5miles long), bord computer had 0 milles left on. :laugh:

If you think that's bad, while driving back from holidaying in Dorset this summer i nearly ran out of petrol. I had stopped at a couple of garages but none had super unleaded and in the end had to use 95 RON. AARRRGGGHH! :scared:
The car wasn't talking to me for a month after that...

Post by: Matjazz on September 07, 2009, 12:15:03 pm: 95 ron is ok... I am using it some times in South Italy, when we are going around the mountains... There you can't get good Gasoline at all... Won't done any damage on the car, just there is not so many HP present :)

Recently filled up with Ultimate when the Shell station was closed for a refurb :sad:

Filled up yesterday with the good stuff on the way home on the M1 ........50 litres at 1.18.9 a litre :fighting:

Shell have pulled out of Ireland and Tesco don't sell 99RON this side of the pond!
