Title: possibly for sale :-( o and new brakes actually on and working
Post by: Leigh200sx on October 17, 2013, 02:05:16 pm
Hello there I bought my golf last Saturday and i love it, I'm pretty new to the vag scene only ever having a mk4 20vt , a skoda octy Vrs then a seat Leon Cupra r 225.... I was looking for a edition 30 at first but after a lot Of thought and several discussions with her in doors we decided on changing her car too so A portion of the car money pot was taking away, only leaving me around £7000 including my px so a gti it was... Ironically we bought the mrs a mk5 gt Tdi 140 ...
The car I bought was the highest spec I could find and being a one owner car it was the one for me..
Factory spec includes
18" monza wheels
Xenon head light with auto level and wash
Mfsw
Cruise control
Dual zone climate control
Heated seats
Leather seats
Electric lumber
Premium sound
Mfd 2 sat navigation
Arm rest
6 disc changer
Highline dash..
Blue glass

Things I have done to it..
Eibach lowering springs
Superpro lower engine mount bushes
Pipewerx 3" turbo down pipe and De cat
Bcs 3" exhaust
Evoms intake
R32 style rear bumper with gti exhaust exit
R-tech custom stage 2 map 276.4 bhp and 335.84  lbft
Hero wind deflecters
Retro fitted rns510
Arm rest mdi kit
Gti seat inserts
Full service
New diverter valve
New pcv
New plugs.

I have some rs3 brembo calipers and 370 mm Discs to fit along with new rear discs and pads to fit.
Also on bentley wheels but just bought some lovely competitive mo'6

My next plans are to replace a tired air con rad and a S3 intercooler,.a hpfp then a beach buggy hybrid turbo..

This is the only picture I have at the minute

It was actually from eBay... £139.99 plus £19.99 postage.. Really happy with it, a lights mike over the reflectors really helped as they were very on your face... Just bought a evoms intake for it.. And as soon as the down pipe and de cat are fitted then a map by r tech I think

Thanks mate it's a good base to start,, the springs are sort lines and I think they lower a none gti golf 45 or 50mm so a drop on a gti of around 25 mm.. The ride is amazing and I'm glad I paid the extra for a good quality spring not cheap crashy ones...

Car looks really well, matey the back bumper suits it perfect, I like it with the GTI exhaust cut out, different than all the others  :happy2: :happy2:

On brake discs:

TTRS oem
DaveB does a set-up to suit them brakes, always worth speaking with Daveb, he is the brake expert, very busy man too, but worth the wait to get back to you  :happy2:

Good luck and health to enjoy your new car  :congrats:

Slow progress lately bloody Xmas present too buy for the kids lol, I've had my pipe werx
Down pipe and De cat fitted also had a new pcv and oil pick up pipe done at the same time, my adapters have come for the range rover wheels,  so just need some Tyres to trial fit them, also since My down pipe has been fitted the cat back I had on it sounded terrible so
The only choice was to go bcs for there full 3" cat back which is mated up to my 3" pipewerx dp and de cat and it sounds amazing ... Also booked in for stage 2 map for 25th Jan @r tech

Well I made the 2 and a half hour drive to r tech this morning, my car had a custom tiv stage 2 map and I'm very happy with the results of 276.4 bhp.and 335.84 lbft. He said there was another 5 to 10 bhp to be had but my air con rad has lots of damage and is blocking the airflow to my intercooler...
My next step is to replace my air con rad and fit a S3 intercooler then a hpfp and try for 300 bhp on the baby turbo

Yes I am a bit gutted,  Niki thinks it would of been around 285bhp but I'm more than happy with the way it drives now, air con works perfectly too :-)... I'm going to get a new.one plus S3 intercooler and a hpfp  then take it back for a map tweak, maybe break the 300 bhp on a baby K03...

The figures don't really fully explain just how much the difference is.. It is seriously a whole world of difference now. It pulls so hard and feels like a new car.. I can't wait get the hybrid turbo and hpfp.

Yeah I know, but was unsure if to bother with s2+ for 30 extra bourses but been convinced by a couple of other members. Got a forge TT, s3 intercooler, whiteline Anti roll bars, set if 19's on Michelin super sports and obviously the exhaust to go on this coming Saturday with r tech the week after.

Hopefully will feel like a different (more enhanced) driving feel

Why is that? The offset is et41 and 9" wide. According to my research they will fit fine? I've test fitted them and they fitted!! I'm planning on running coil overs and going lower but no air.. Have you tried bentley wheels or have any evidence they won't work?  If so  it looks like there going up for sale..

I'm no wheel expert either but after a lot of research it's seems the general rule is they will fit, aggressive fitment on the front but still fit...I'm wondering if he has had first hand experience in the subject? If so then I will sell.them

Well after a day of driving around on the bentley wheels I can confirm they fit with no rubbing at all yet... It needs to lower now. I've dropped the car in to my local painter who is refurbing the wheels.for me.. This is a picture he sent me, the colour is a Ferrari Silverstone grey I think he said. Any thoughts on these

Also have a walk, polybushed lower arms, vibratechnic engine mounts all to fit. But all in good time. I still haven't fitted my Ttrs brakes..

Hey mate ! sorry for the late response ! i didn't mean they wouldn't fit , i just meant the offsets look all wrong because they poke to much so you cant go low enough on them without battering your arches , and without lowering it loads they don't look right ! so air is generally the only way if running bentleys

However if fitment doesn't bother you to much then don't worry about it ! love the colour you've chose btw

I'm not really into all that air suspension and stance... I'm 37 with 2 kids the wheels were that cheap I had to buy them. I like them but I'm thinking of getting them machined 5mm to help with the fitment...I've had 4 people in the car last night and no rubbing but it needs to go lower...Il more than likely sell them and make some money

Thanks Si, they are 8x18 et40 5x112, very rare find to be honest and they should fit just perfect. The Bentley wheels look amazing but there not for me,, I went for a spirited drive on Saturday with a few friends and I found myself slowing down just in case I damaged the wheels... Not much happening with the build recently,  I've been very very busy doing the garden :-(.. I have fitted some r32 rear lights and also went sent my rs3 calipers to the body shop for paint, I then fitted them and realised my discs were not Ttrs :-(.. A quick phone call to Alex and a new set of Ttrs discs were sent out.. Also pagid blue brake pads and braided lines, I will get them fitted soon..
