Title: Is it hit and miss where the HU gateway is on 2005?

I've heard it's in the wiper motor recess or up behind the steering wheel.  I'm a little annoyed with myself for checking when I had the wiper motor out, but alas, is it just hit and miss where it will be located on 2005 models? (55 plate)

In front of the gear lever cubby hole is favorite for that year.

55 plate it'll be above the clutch pedal unless its a dsg then it'll be above where the clutch pedal should be :happy2:

Exactly where the CAN gateway is on my 2005!

I found it quite a straight forward change once the lower dash panel (with the OBD2 connector in it) and air duct was removed.

One of mine was above the clutch

The other golf I had it was buried up behind all of the fuse box and relays in the cockpit!

mine was also above the clutch pedal. Right pain in the ass to change!
