Just had this through from BSH as a press release.....if we have enough interest, of more than 10 confirmed orders, we get an extra discount on them and would be able to run a GB if the club is in agreeance with this idea:
2.0T FSI ENGINE Mount Sets
The VW factory Engine side and transmission side mounts are designed to provide a very comfortable drive. For the performance minded individual stock mounts aren’t really going to cut it. With the high amount of engine movement under hard acceleration the ability to efficiently get the power your engine creates to the ground is usually substituted with wheel hop and jerky take offs.
When upgrading to solid mount you will notice more Stability, smoother feeling while in high performance driving conditions and better accuracy during fast shifting. They will also eliminate the pesky wheel hop issues associated with front wheel drive cars.
:happy2:
BSH Mounts are a complete replacement of the factory mount. The mount body is constructed from 6061 billet aluminum and Stainless steel center shaft. Utilizing the separate stainless center shafts make these mounts the strongest design available, so rest assured that these babies are going to take anything you can throw at them. The urethane used is of a 77a Dueromiter which “we feel are the best blend of street and performance use. Significantly stiffer over stock but not enough to be an annoyance on the commute.â€

I love the fact you can ONLY buy in pairs..... but yet prices are listed for both :signLOL:
-
looks very good :happy2: ,
how about the agreed £ value for the mounts after discount. (and a postage value as they arent light...)
(any increased discount if we go over 15/20 etc :innocent:)
as for fitment for those watching , its a relatively easy DIY for the side mounts (which cant be said for the lower transmission mount )
-
It'll be the same as for the catch can gb we are running, price breaks of 10+, 15+ and 20+ - I'd like to see if there are that many people interested first though before I suggest a GB to SteveP.
-
I will drop you an email Ben to start discussions :happy2:
-
Also moved up to the main section where this is more relevant :happy2:

it's not advised to have one side mount without the other, will put further pressure on the stock mount.
Hence it's best to buy both and also the pendulum mount which they sell separately that will complete the package
went for the VF mounts myself these look pretty good though :happy2:
-
That engine mount looks very similiar to the VF offering. :surprised:
-
im interested. how many queen quids will they be with disounts etc
-
FULL price, without any discount is £230.00.
I shall be working out discounted prices, and a package price with the pendulum mount also today.

....
People considering a pair of side mounts should be aware of them POSSIBLY adding sound into the cabin.
I don't know what sound the VF mounts add which James has, nor what duro hardness they are to compare with these BSH's 77a. Similarly I don't know the VWR 'Fast Road' duro rating (their 'Race' mounts are solid), but the VWR mounts look far more substantial.
The mount which doesn't add any sounds is the lower aka dogbone mount - Which can be installed without the other pair.
Another advantage of a full set of engine mounts is reducing any engine movement.
The sound I refer to is a Grrrrrrrrrr!! in direct tandem with your use of throttle - I absolutely love the sound but not everyone (mostly wifeys/GF's/partners) will. Also other sounds can be heard from the engine bay (which I also love!).
Vibration isn't worth mentioning as it's just a buzz and disappears once the engine is warmed up.
Overall, it's more of an enthusiast's mod and not one for those who prefer a sophisticated 'family car'.
Hope this helps people's decisions. [It should be noted that my comments are based on my experience of VWR engine mounts]

Can we start a list so I have an idea of how many people would be interested in buying these at a discounted price in a potential GB? BSH look like they arent going to hold massive amounts on the shelves, so if we get anywhere near the 40odd people wanting these I need to give BSH prior warning!
-
^^^^
I would be more than extremely surprised if you were to get anything remotely like 40 people wanting engine mounts regardless of who makes them and even if they were extremely cheap.
Too many people want their car to remain feeling quiet and 'sophisticated'.
EDIT: I just realised that my post might have sounded ambiguous - I wasn't suggesting it was pointless offering a GB :happy2:
-
Get us a starting discounted price and will go from there tbh.

Any news on the price of the Engine mounts?
