I read a  post on here earlier i was just wondering for those with high mileage eddies would you recon or rebuild your engine when the time comes,is it worth it ,or just sell it on ,also does anyone know the recon /rebuild prices at all

What sort of mileage are you thinking as a few on here are well past 100k miles and still going strong.

Put it this way how much would you pay ( or is it worth buying)for a 2007/8 ed with 170k on the clock knowing you will need a refurb or recon sooner or later

Engine should fine until double that mileage, may be worth cleaning inlet valves though  :happy2:

There are mk2 GTI's with 180+k miles still running well, more modern engines using modern oil will go on and on to the point where the body has rotten away before the engine has expired
