Fair one, does sound a little easier.

Looking good mate, any plans to sell in the near future :happy2:

I'm glad, you were talking dangerously about chopping it in for an S3 at the last Lakeside meet.

S3 is my second choice if i cant find a decent eddie, been without a car a week and its driving my mad already :signLOL: but i really want a dsg.

Nicely done fella! :happy2:
-
love the engine cover mate
-
Engine cover looks great, but I may be a bit biased :happy2: Mine took ages to get right but worth it in the end
-
Nice job that, cars looking good keep up the good work
-
That cover looks absolutely amazing. If you could create an oil filler cap out of a VW emblem that would be a brilliant finishing touch :happy2:
-
Tidy looking eddy mate with some nice mods. My Mrs lives in oakwood so I'm floating around Enfield sometimes, will keep an eye out for you :happy2:
-
Absolutely gorgeous piece of work
-
cheers everyone glad you all like it
@BarberVW (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9406) love the vw oil cap idea
-
Awesome work and if you can manage to fit a VW symbol in the oil cap (don't ask me how you turn it, maybe add a pop-up action to grab it) then that would be just insanely good! :notworthy:
-
Very nice work - awesome car :happy2:
-
washed and cleaned ready for r-tech on Tuesday :driver:

Revision G diverter valve
Open fog light grills

well my trip to r-tech was event full had a few problems loading the map onto the ecu due to the superchips map car made 350 bhp 355 lb/ft torque about a week later I got a call from Niki asking me to rebook in    after his tweak the car made 365 bhp 405 lb/ft

this dyno is from the surrey rolling road day my car made best k04 figures on the day :happy2:
Look at the curves on that :jumpmove: :congrats:

-
Great results and congrats :notworthy:
-
serious power, how does it drive?
-
Those curves look perfect, well done! :happy2:
-
@gixerben (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9443) as its a linear map its not kick you back in the seat power don't get me wrong it still puts you back but as you can see from the graphs it just keeps on going and going
Had other fellow k04 owners in the car and they have said they are surprised it still pulls hard right to the rev limiter
At pod in Jan best I could get was 13.6 q-mile but terminal speed was 112 mph it was like I had the handbrake on in first and second as temp's was 0 degrees
-
Sounds good, must get mine mapped, would be over the moon if it made those sort of numbers
-
Lovely curves! :happy2:
-
Car looks great Dan - subtle styling tweeks, and awesome power. Just what I want for mine!
Can you really feel the difference in the map now it has that extra 50lbs/ft?
-
Sounded good last week when you blipped it when you went past, i was in the mk5 .:R :happy2:
-
yeah I could definitely feel the extra torque made the car so much better to drive :driver:
@Horatio (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=4182) you car looked sweet I clocked you pulling onto the a10 just did not know it was a forum member :happy2:

folding mirrors with puddle lights fitted without folding modules but the puddle lights are working
Great work - some proper mods going on. The ali wishbones and SALK really made a difference to how my car felt and drove.
Regards your mirror mods - I think I am having the same nightmare you did trying to find the controllers. I have the folding mirrors with puddles, plus the dimming glass for both sides, but trying to find replacement controllers for my car with GEN3 MIN motors, I am struggling a bit...
-
cars driving so much better i replaced all the subframe bolts and added the spacers and its sorted out the little clonk i had :happy2:
@Dave J (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6566) i am looking for gen 3 max motors as thats whats on my car

-
just sent a k04 turbo into beach buggy turbo's for an anti-surge wheel and a rebuild
-
What do you think to the b14 coilovers and is it a harsh ride? Roads near me are terrible which is why I ask the question
-
just sent a k04 turbo into beach buggy turbo's for an anti-surge wheel and a rebuild
Nice one
Is that because you blew up the old one or just wanted more power? What numbers you expecting once its done mate?
-
i am just getting a k04 rebuilt as it makes the swap easier nothing wrong with my turbo i just did not want the car of the road :happy2:
the k04 suffers from surging so Niki has to map around it meaning i get a spike in power at 4k so with the anti surge he can now bring the power in a lot earlier
i want midrange / drive ability as thats where most power is used on a daily basis
figures who knows i would be very happy with 375/400
the b14's are quite harsh they are harder than the kw v1's i removed but when your having a little blast they are fantastic
-
Sounds good mate, I'm suprised with doing all that though you didn't just put a TTE420 on
-
i have decided 360/380 bhp is enough for me
this upgrade is not costing much at all i will fit it myself with the help from a few mates and i will sell my turbo to cover 90% of the cost of the out lay on the anti surge :happy2:
-
Sounds like a plan :happy2:
-
so today the turbo was fitted not done any logs yet but initial thoughts are its smoother and pulls consistently to the red line
i will send a log file over to Niki at R-Tech to make sure its safe and will be booking it in January for a little map tweak and to find out what its now pushing
BIG BIG thanks to Bizz and our mate Matt for helping me install it

-
whats happening on the 4th of december mate ?
not much Dan
just the last RR of 2015 Dec 14th sat
40 notes 3 runs i think you said before
i just thought you could test the new Turbo bb mod ?
-
tbh its to early for me
i would sort another for January as that would be after i have had the map tweaked to make sure its safe and healthy
-
Rns510 DAB added
using a cheap aerial at the moment not sure if i want the hassle of fitting a new roof mount
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fjj249%2Fcabrio16v%2F9FA16730-C934-4F46-B676-7F9307552BE2_zpsa25tnqn7.jpg&hash=ea713912419018c9cf5c8365f8ad24e7c6a08435)
-
When you say cheap aerial, do you mean on of the ones that mounts in the windscreen? Retro fitting a OE DAB receiver would be a pain, but fit a reverse view camera at the same time perhaps..?
-
its a possibility its something i would like to do :happy2:
-
Hey buddy just a quick question... I noticed on my ED30 that the heated seat control goes upto level 5 but on the mk6 control panel, looks like only 5? doesn't that mean it won't be as warm as it should or....?
-
mk6 panel only has 3 settings it gets just as hot :happy2:
-
mk6 panel only has 3 settings it gets just as hot :happy2:
Yeah that's what I meant lol. So to clarify, you've said, that setting 3 is equivalent to setting 5 on the standard mk5 climate control? I only ask because I always keep mine on the highest setting when I use them and didn't want to upgrade if it messed around with my bum warmers lol
-
yeah 3 and 5 get up to the same temp
-
Hi Dan
can i ask what you went for as i think they have 2 types
super pro lower dog mount insert
is it a good mod and easy to fit
many thanks pete
-
Awesome work being done here. Will keep my eye on this :happy2: Keep up the good work Dan
-
@patpong_pete (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=3923)
if i remember right basicly
one is soft and one is harder i went for the soft one as i didn't want any cabin vibration i have tried to keep the refinement in the car
@CarlW (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=8175)
cheers mate the car is practily done for me now i am fast running out of mods to do to it
-
My favourite silver
looking good mate
-
Had a great day at R-tech yesterday
bizz brought cakes and i had the whisky it was Andrews birthday so everyone was in good spirits
my car was running great and the final figures was 380 bhp 400 lb/ft torque so i am well happy with that
i will post the graph later
Dan.. :happy2:
-
Congrats on the great outcome! :congrats:
-
Damn. That must be fun in the current weather.

will be good to see these to at the pod :driver:
-
Nice dan my stage 2+ we had 373hp and 430 ftlb which was crazy fast!!! I have a few special ingredients though and now its gone the whole hog, tte420 with a big spec just waiting on one more part and mapping dates then we'll see what niki can do!
good effort Dan

@AJP (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11926) dsg my friend i am to old and lazy for all that gear change malarkey  nah i just cant stand siting in traffic in a manual car
@Peskyjones (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11854) nope this one dont go on track if anything happened to it i would have to walk to work
@patpong_pete (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=3923) me and @bizz (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9970) not had a play yet since mapping mine has the edge on low down but he clearly has the better top end so it will be a good race but he should be kicking my but :driver:
-
Do bizz and Orc have build threads??
-
@Gti_Mad (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1692) i don't think so they are secret squirrels :signLOL:

Sorry dude love being on forums and love peeps threads but always kept mine secret since I got my mk2 20v into Pvw I now keep things under wraps. You'll see me at the track tho or a show

if it does come to that mate then send me a pm sometime! theres a lot of bits im interested in and my brothers just bought an ed30 so is looking for the cheap bits like spacers intake ect.
ill be interested in r-tech pcv delete, r-tech heat shield, coilovers.
part of me hopes it doesn't get split cos its a great build but the vulture in me wants all the parts :P
-

DAN Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo
that ed30 is a show winner and damm fast why ?
new car must be something good what you going for ?
if bits and bobs come up like intercooler or any as i am local to you dan and we are mates :drinking:
-
i have just got to the stage that i have had enough of the car and its sort of now or never as the car is on 67k and the mods are still fresh and i would get good money for them
this is definitely happening its just as soon as i can get it in the workshop to start removing bits they will go up for sale
Dan..
-
Well, seems a waste of work after you made it so good. I hope you get good money for all the bits fitted.
I'd be interested in the SuperPro adjustable ball joints and in the S3 alloy wishbones.
-
It is an awesome ride! Hope you enjoyed it. Something way beter must be waiting then :happy2:
-
its been a great car but i am ready for a 4 wheel drive car now
going to start stripping it next weekend
-
Go on, indulge us. What have you got in mind? Little bit gutted I never got to see it. Never seen an ed30 in the flesh let alone a monster of an ed30

The vultures will descend on the parts

i will probably have around 20k to buy a car and it will have to have 4 wheel drive and auto/dsg
i have only owned golfs for the last 15 years so one eye is on a 6r but i did notice the ttrs's are getting cheaper :surprised:
its going to take a few months to get rid of all my parts and the car so got plenty of time to decide
-
How much would take for it as is??!
-
It's worth to much in parts to sell it as it
Sorry
-
It's worth to much in parts to sell it as it
Sorry
You can always ask for it what you think is fair...
-
I know what they are worth and I have added up i have over 5 grand in parts to sell and a stock car in this condition will fetch strong money
I also have all the stock parts in my garage
So no point I am in no rush it's going to take a few months to sort out
-
Sorry to read you're selling up, but looks as though you've had fun with the ED30 and taken it about as far as it can go!
Must admit, I love my ED30 but I have been thinking about something 4WD too. I can't justify it as I must buy a property before I am destined to rent forever, so it will remain a pipe dream for now...
Really not wanting to be a vulture, but I'd be interested in the DAB RNS510 if you'll be removing this from the car... I have an RNS version H if you'd be interested in a swap plus cash your way...
-
Keeping the dab for now but if things change Dave I will give you a shout
-
excellent car Dan and only now i read your build threadand now your selling up :signLOL:If i get another car it will be awd
-
cheers @maxitrol (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=164) its been a great car still unsure what to buy but its starting to look like a 6R
The cars back stock now and will be for sale very soon :happy2:
-
Should have kept all the mods if you were going 6R.
-
stunning car love all the oem+ bits on it. Am interested in stuff but don't have enough posts to pm you
