Title: Tornado Red, Colour Coding
Post by: Reezie123 on October 20, 2013, 04:55:17 pm
So its been bugging me, that rear bumper on the GTI! - WHY COULDNT THEY JUST COLOUR CODE IT!

Anyway I have a GTi 3 Door in Tornado Red, This Is My Plan..

Colour Code rear bumper - but leave the bottom part black (So just paint the rear valance, but the splitter on the bottom, leave black) I hope im making sense..

Colour code Side Skirts

Colour Code front splitter, but leave that little lip black...

I thought it would make a good contrast of Red and Black..

Has anyone colour coded the standard rear valance?

what are your views?

Will it look tacky?

Anyone with pics???

It will look good. There are a few pictures about with that done. It's exactly how I'm going to have mine colour coded albeit mine is reflex silver.

My wife has a Mk6 in Tornado red. Colour coded rear valance as you suggest. Looks SO much better!  :happy2:
I got a quote for having my Mk5 grey one done locally - £325 and that was with a discount! Its on the list, but will have to wait ....

I got mine done last week, I found a smoothed Gti one on ebay for £70 delivered, then got a body shop to spray steel grey and gloss black- £150 rectifying any imperfections too.
It's the smoothing that's going to rack up the price.  There is a smoothed one in sunny Scotland on gumtree at the moment.
