Title: Can gateway location ????????????

Does anybody know where the can gateway is located on a GTI ???     I want to upgrade  to the latest version to prevent battery drain issues with RCD510 . I had a look around the drivers foot-well area but with no joy.
The pictures from a link I have place it just above & right of the accelerator pedal but this was a picture from a LHD car.
Any help greatly appreciated..

I have just had the same proplem, I have a 56 (2007) gti and after many hours i found mine right up above the accelerator pedal. Theres a fuse type box which i lowered and took out the HVAC pipe. I will try post some photos if i can find out how.
